Cypress’ Classroom

where curiosity takes root in nature

a fully outdoor, drop off homeschool enrichment program

Explore

We operate in beautiful Central Florida nature spaces with diverse ecosystems. Students can climb trees, run barefoot, and witness the seasonal changes unfold before their eyes. Building strong bodies, curious minds and developing a deep understanding and appreciation for the natural world we are all a part of.

Connect

Our classes are intentionally small to help foster meaningful friendships. We encourage continual enrollment in our nine month session so children have opportunities to build upon these relationships all school year. Practicing social and emotional skills such as: leadership and collaborator roles in mixed age play, healthy boundary setting, control of emotions, problem-solving, and empathy as they grow to truly know and care for one another.

Grow

Taking away walls, technology, worksheets, and excessive structure allows space for children’s creative spirits, inquisitive minds, and excitement for learning. We encourage our students to take the lead and follow their interests. Educators then offer hands-on, nature based activities to deepen their understanding of those topics. This not only keeps them engaged but develops confidence and ownership of their education for years to come.

Our Core Values

  • Children learn best through their passions. It's our job as educators to create opportunities for them to find and nourish those passions. Nature is the perfect setting to spark curiosity and inspire a love for learning.

  • Scientists study the history of the Earth to better care for it today. We lean into true history to better care for one another as well as the nature spaces we enjoy.

  • A healthy ecosystem is diverse, as is our classroom. We celebrate our differences and learn more about them through “own voices” stories and resources.

  • It's important to show respect to the Indigenous people whose land we occupy. The children of Cypress’ Classroom will learn about the Ais and Timucua tribes as well as the Seminole Tribe of FL who preceded us and continue to care for nature the way it cares for us.

  • Each plant flourishes in a unique environment. Animals thrive in their individual habitats. We see each child as the unique human they are and work to understand their specific learning style.

  • Water is life, it ebbs and flows and changes pace and direction when needed. Our students and teachers do this with each other too. We create space for everyone to fill different roles at different times.
